HGAR To Host Special Event Highlighting the Association’s Global Business Council on February 25 in White Plains

February 21, 2025

White Plains, NY (February 2025) The Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS® (HGAR) will host a special “Why Global?” event both live and virtually, focusing on its Global Business Council and international real estate deals in today’s market. The free event will be held live at HGAR’s White Plains headquarters on February 25, from 10 to 11 am, as well as virtually. To register, please visit www.hgar.com/events.

“It’s all about recognizing relationships that can promote both inbound and outbound global business opportunities,” said HGAR CEO Lynda Fernandez, who will be leading the session. “We’ll be discussing how our Global Business Council can assist our members working with international buyers seeking to invest in our region, as well as local clients who want to invest abroad.”

Fernandez has more than 20 years of experience in association management, government affairs, communications, and international business development. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), a Realtor Association Certified Executive (RCE), and a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS).

She previously held several posts with the Miami Association of Realtors, where she served as MIAMI’s Chief of Communications & Global. Previously, she was the Senior Vice President of Public Relations and International for MIAMI for almost 14 years.

Fernandez will be joined by HGAR Global Business Chair Christina Prostano and Vice Chair Holly Gluck.

Prostano, an associate broker with Compass in Manhattan, is the founder and principal of the Global Collective Team at Compass and the international Global Real Estate Collective, a global community of professionals sharing resources to service clients across borders. The Global Collective has successfully brokered transactions with international buyers from over 30 countries, from Hong Kong to the UAE and across Europe.

She also holds a CIPS designation and has been a member of the planning committee for HGAR’s annual Global Real Estate Summit, held in Manhattan. In addition, she has attended several of the FIABCI World Congress and other events, including Dubai, Paris, and Cannes (MIPIM). “Global agents focus on building personal connections and knowledge about markets abroad,” she said. “Some specialize in a particular region, and others build those connections more generally.”

Both Prostano and Gluck attended the most recent MIPIM conference held in Cannes, France. Gluck is an agent with Berkshire Hathaway Homes Services NY Properties in Rye and has been in the real estate industry for many years, working with both domestic and international clients.

The “Why Global?” session is open to all HGAR members and is designed to demonstrate how the Association’s Global Business Council can help Realtors grow their international business. “We believe this will provide new insights and help to enhance their competitive edge in today’s expanding market,” added Fernandez.

The Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS® is a not-for-profit trade association consisting of over 13,000 real estate professionals doing business in Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and Orange counties.
