As President of Masters, Joe is responsible for the plans to further increase the customer base and to continue providing excellent service to their accounts. The plans will be implemented through an aggressive sales program and further acquisitions. Since Joe took over the operation 15 years ago, he has delivered double digit growth over his tenure. The increase has come from providing professional and courteous service to all and in return, the customers have continued to show their trust with more work.
Joe graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1988. In 2000, he went back to St. John’s University to complete a Masters of Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and Marketing. Joe also holds all of the required pest control licensing and certifications required by New York State.
Prior to acquiring Masters, Joe was the Vice President of Perfect Commerce, where he had the pleasure of working with Fortune 500 Corporations across the United States such as Starbucks, Lyondell Chemicals and Bank One. His responsibilities included assisting large companies in negotiating the sales and purchasing of all assets and bringing bottom line savings to the Corporation.
Joe was introduced to the Pest Control Industry as a teenager by his father, who owned Action Exterminating. One of the investment firms that Joe worked with needed advice on purchasing a large Pest Control Company. They knew of Joe’s knowledge of the business and hired him to handle the acquisition. After the deal was complete, Joe made the decision to continue on in the Pest Control Industry by starting DiMaggio Pest Control in 2003. Once he mastered his craft, the name changed to Masters Exterminating and Pest Control.
Joe is an affiliate member of the Bronx Manhattan-North Association of Realtors and serves on the board and several planning committees. He also supports the Annual Golf Outing for Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP). and serves on the Board of Trustees and Golf Outing Planning Committee for Community Mainstreaming Associates (CMA), an organization dedicated to providing group homes and support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Joe also has served as the President of The Jewish Congregation of Brookville now known as Congregation L’Dor V’Dor, a reform synagogue in Oyster Bay, NY where he has been a Congregant and a board member for over 18 years.
Joe has been married to his wife, Robin, since 1990. They reside in Syosset and are the proud parents of Sara and Jonah. Sara resides in Australia with her husband, Shane, and Jonah is an active U.S. Marine assigned to MCAS New River in Jacksonville, NC.
When asked what is his favorite thing, his answer is — “A day spent with my family!”
