HGAR Offices Closed Until Further Notice

Effective Immediately

It is abundantly clear that our area has been significantly affected by the coronavirus.  Our top priority at HGAR continues to be the health and safety of our members and employees. Toward that end, we are committed to instituting procedures and best practices to maintain a safe environment in our facilities. We also want to reinforce our collective responsibility as good neighbors and citizens by helping to contain the spread of the coronavirus within the larger community. The HGAR Executive Committee met this morning and has determined that HGAR should take appropriate steps necessary to protect members and staff to the best of our ability. In that light HGAR is taking the following steps:

  • Effective immediately, all educational classes scheduled at any of the three HGAR locations in White Plains, West Nyack, and Goshen are cancelled for the balance of March, and will be rescheduled for future dates when possible. Students currently registered for classes for March will be contacted and full refunds will be issued. You can also visit hgar.com for online educational options.**
  • All scheduled events like Breakfast with Benefits, regional meetings, broker owner manager meetings, as well as fundraising events for RPAC and the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation are cancelled for the balance of March, and will be rescheduled for future dates when possible.
  • Any scheduled committee meetings will be conducted via zoom.

HGAR will remain open for business, though some staff will be working remotely from home. The White Plains and Goshen offices will be open during regular business hours. However, we strongly encourage members to make an appointment in advance of the visit. The West Nyack office will be open by advance appointment only. To schedule an appointment for the West Nyack office, please email Karen Peters at karen.peters@hgar.com.

We continue to encourage our members to stay informed by visiting reliable sources like the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), www.cdc.gov. The CDC site has a wealth of current and valuable information on the virus. Also NAR has valuable information on what you can do as Realtors to help slow the spread of the virus https://www.nar.realtor/coronavirus-a-guide-for-realtors. This resource has valuable advice on open houses and possible safety measures.

**We have also been advised by NYSAR that they have had communication with the Department of State (DOS) and have been advised that DOS will grant six (6) month waivers to students who are unable to complete their education due to the State of Emergency caused by COVID-19.  DOS is now working on notification for their website and an email blast.  Please look for the DOS notification.

Obviously this is a very fluid situation and HGAR will continue to monitor national, state and local guidelines and notify you as necessary.
