- Recognize the construction materials that are used
- Identify and explain general construction arrangements for the attic region (i.e., rafters, truces, etc.)
- Develop an understanding of vermiculite and other insulations used
- Develop knowledge for the construction and operation of wood & gas fireplaces
- Describe the difference between a level 1 and level 2 fireplace inspection
- Explain the functionality of the general plumbing arrangements
- Explain and identify differences between standard outlets, Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI), and Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCI)
- Recognize and identify the materials used for foundations in early century homes to new construction
- Explain how vertical and horizon cracks may impact a foundation
