James E. Carnicelli, President and founder of CARNELL, is a Civil Engineer with a Masters Degree. Jim has over 45 years of engineering consulting experience. In 1969, Jim started CARNELL Associates, a building inspection firm. Jim is Vice President of The Westchester County Board of Health and a member of The American Society of Home Inspectors.

James E. Carnicelli is a Vice President of the Westchester Board of Health, past President of Westchester/Hudson Valley Leukemia Society of America, and past President of the Metropolitan Chapter of The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He is also past National Secretary to the American Society of Home Inspectors.
He teaches Energy Efficiencies and New York State Energy Codes (licensed by the State), and Construction for the Westchester and Long Island Board of Realtors. He also gives courses in engineering, construction management and energy efficiencies to various groups and societies. He is certified as a New York State qualified instructor for Realty Boards for Engineering, Energy, and CE (Continued Education) courses for both construction and environmental issues. When away from the office Jim enjoys his family and boating. He is also a New York State licensed Home Inspector – lic # 16000010529.
